Uzbekistan’s potential in mechanical engineering field presented in Beijing

The exhibition is organized in cooperation and sponsorship of the China Machinery Industry Federation, China Machinery Industry Group Corporation, China International Chamber of Commerce, China Automobile Industry Association, China International Trade Development Council, China International Exhibition Center and China Automobile Society.

The exhibition, covering an area of 220 thousand square meters, featured 117 new types of cars, 41 concept cars and 278 new energy models from well-known domestic and international brands.

As part of the presentation of the potential of our country, participants were informed about trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and tourism relations between Uzbekistan and China, the development of entrepreneurship, business opportunities, benefits and favorable conditions for foreign investors created in the republic.

Particular attention is paid to the modern development of the automotive industry in Uzbekistan. It was noted that car production has tripled in recent years and reached 415 thousand units by the end of 2023. It was emphasized that 8 factories in Uzbekistan produce dozens of types of cars, cargo and passenger, agricultural and special equipment. As a result of measures taken in this direction, it is planned to increase the production of passenger cars in Uzbekistan to 1 million units by 2030.

Representatives of the Chinese business community were told about the agreements reached between the parties and new projects during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to China on January 23-25, 2024. In particular, it was noted that the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the headquarters and technology center of the leading Chinese company BYD in Shenzhen. The head of Uzbekistan, together with the president of the company, Wang Chuanfu, took part in the launch ceremony of a project to assemble 50 thousand units of hybrid and electric vehicles per year in the Jizzakh region.

Representatives of the Chinese business community showed interest in the possibilities of bilateral cooperation and expressed a desire to visit Uzbekistan in the near future to discuss related issues.
