On the afternoon of April 19, in a house in the “Okbulok” mahalla in the Zarbdor district, a man stabbed another during a quarrel and fled. The victim died some time later in the hospital.
Police officers began searching for the suspect. It turned out that the man was calling his wife and they tried to contact him on this number to convince him to come to the police department. However, another person answered the call.
It was a second-year student at the Uzbek State University of World Languages, Mirzabek Elmurodov. He said that while walking down the street, a man asked to use his phone.
“He called his wife, said that he had committed a crime and was interested in the condition of the victim. 10 minutes later, employees the Jizzakh regional police department called me. They said that this man had committed a crime and asked to follow him. I followed him and, together with employees of the internal affairs bodies of Tashkent, we detained him,” the young man said.
At a meeting with the participation of university teachers and students, the young man was presented with a commemorative wristwatch, 5 million soums and a letter of gratitude to his parents.
Four employees of the Shaykhantakhur district police department who participated in the arrest also received memorable gifts.
