Asian Cup U-23: Uzbekistan beats Vietnam – 3:0 (video)
The Uzbekistan youth team defeated Vietnam in the third round of the group stage of the Asian Championship among football players under 23, which takes place from April 15 to May 3 in Qatar. The match, which took place on April 24, ended with a score of 3:0.

The Uzbek team opened the scoring in the 4th minute – attacking midfielder Alisher Odilov completed the team's scoring attack in the penalty area.
In the 36th minute, forward Ruslanbek Jiyanov received the ball on the approaches to the penalty area and accurately shot from a tight angle.
In the 40th minute, Alisher Odilov scored a double after another attack from the right flank. The midfielder scored with his head after a cross from Saidazamat Mirsaidov.
In the 85th minute, a possible penalty in favor of Uzbekistan U-23 was not confirmed after checking the episode in the VAR system.
Uzbekistan U-23 led Group D with 9 points and reached the quarterfinals of the tournament from first place. At the next stage, the youth team will play against Saudi Arabia on April 26 at 19:00. The opponent defeated Tajikistan U-23 (4:2) and Thailand (5:0), but lost to Iraq (1:2).
The Asian Cup U-23 is an international Asian football championship held every two years and organized by the Asian Football Confederation. The tournament will be held from April 15 to May 3 in Qatar.
The tournament serves as the AFC’s qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics in France. The top three teams in the tournament will qualify for the Olympics as Asian representatives, while the fourth best team will take part in the playoff match. A total of 16 teams compete in the tournament. Saudi Arabia is the defending champion.
