Uzbekistan’s new ambassador presents his credentials to the King of Spain

During the conversation following the official ceremony, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further development of cooperation in all areas, Dunyo reported.

King Felipe VI highly praised the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, noting that under the leadership of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country has achieved significant success in building a strong civil society, implementing an open foreign policy, and ensuring stable economic growth.

It was also emphasized that the political views of Uzbekistan's president, his deep interest in the well-being of his country, as well as in the processes throughout the entire Central Asian region, especially the situation in neighboring Afghanistan, made a profound impression.

The King of Spain expressed his readiness to assist in efforts to strengthen and develop bilateral relations aimed at reaching new heights in cooperation.

It should be recalled that Farukh Tursunov arrived in the capital of Spain as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary on December 7, 2023. He succeeded Jahongir Ganiev, who had led the diplomatic mission in Madrid since 2017.
