Upon arrival in Namangan, the president visited the "Gavhar Group" enterprise in the Yangi-Namangan district, where he highlighted the potential of the country's jewelry industry.
"In our country, 100 tons of gold are mined annually. The sale of gold to entrepreneurs on installment has been permitted. Such an opportunity does not exist in other countries. However, only 6% of this gold is processed within the country. Some nations do not mine gold yet export more jewelry products than we do. We are slightly behind in this area. Therefore, we are creating additional conditions for production. And this is just the beginning. We will continue to develop this industry," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during a conversation with the jewelers working at the enterprise.
It is noted that the "Gavhar Group" has the capacity for industrial production of 1,200 kg of jewelry per year. The equipment used at the enterprise has been sourced from Turkey, Italy, the USA, and Germany. To date, the production of 10,000 varieties of jewelry items has been mastered. In cooperation with international partners, the production of high-quality gold watch casings has been established. In 2023, 270 kg of such products were produced. The company also has capabilities for custom jewelry manufacturing using 3D modeling.
The enterprise has also established cooperation with local jewelers. As a result, those who previously worked unofficially have come out of the shadows, leading to increased employment opportunities.
The president also reviewed the products of the "Mekhmash" enterprise, which produces 20,000 tons of screws and 18,000 tons of rolled paper annually, possessing an export potential of $6 million.
Mirziyoyev gave instructions regarding increasing the volume of production and exporting fastening products used in the automotive industry and expanding the number of jobs.
