Uzbekistan appoints new ambassador to Latvia

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Timur Rakhmanov arrived in the capital of Latvia.

In 2021-2024, he worked as Consul General in the city of Novosibirsk. His consular district included the Siberian Federal District of Russia.

It is reported that Timur Rakhmanov is 46 years old. He began working in the MFA system in 1999. He worked in various positions in the central office of the ministry, as well as in the embassies of Uzbekistan in Poland, Italy, and Spain. In 2017-2018, he worked as head of the territorial office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the city of Urgench, deputy governor of the Khorezm region on issues of investment, innovation, assistance to privatized enterprises, development of free economic and small industrial zones.

In his new post, Timur Rakhmanov replaced Kadambay Sultanov, who worked as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia (2019-2024) and part-time in Lithuania (2021-2024), Finland (2020-2024) and Estonia (2020-2024) with residence in the city of Riga.
