Perceived inflation reaches a yearly minimum in Uzbekistan
Most Uzbek citizens noted an increase in prices for gasoline and transport services in February.

The level of inflationary feelings in Uzbekistan has reached a minimum over the past year, the Central Bank reported.
According to the results of a February survey, citizens on average estimated the price increase over the past 12 months at 12.7%. The median dropped to 10.3%.
At the same time, a month earlier, perceived inflation increased to 13.5% on average and 11% in median terms. These figures were the highest since last August.
Among the regions, the highest inflation estimates were given in Tashkent (16.1%), Syrdarya (13.9%) and Tashkent regions (13.2%). The least noticeable increase in prices was in Karakalpakstan (9.1%), Khorezm (10.7%) and Andijan (11.1%) regions.
Citizens with high incomes consider price increases to be more noticeable. In the stratum with incomes of 15 million soums, the estimate was 16.9%, in the group with 10-15 million soums – 14.6%. For comparison, in the category of up to 2 million soums it is 12.4%, and in the groups with 2-3 million soums and 5-7 million soums – 11.8%.
Over the past month, slightly more than half of respondents noted a significant increase in the price of gasoline and fuel (46% in January). Transport services came in second place – 32% versus 23% a month earlier.
The share of citizens who assess the increase in prices for fruits and vegetables as high decreased from 33% to 30%, for meat and dairy products – from 31% to 29%. There were also declines for medicines (24%) and eggs (21%).
