The Senate has begun considering a new version of the law “On Telecommunications”, the press service of the upper house of Oliy Majlis reported.
On March 11, the bill passed a preliminary discussion in the Information Policy Committee. The senators highlighted a number of amenities that are created by the new law and their compliance with the new version of the Constitution.
Thus, the need was noted for the reconstruction of some old multi-storey buildings due to the lack of Internet infrastructure. To prevent such problems, its implementation during the construction of new buildings and structures will become mandatory.
According to the residents, entrepreneurs will be able to use the existing communication facilities in the buildings free of charge. Operators will be allowed to jointly operate telecom infrastructure.
The new law is intended to eliminate possible problems with incompatibility in the infrastructure. The installation of telecommunications networks by different operators separately may not be carried out according to uniform standards, the senators pointed out.
In addition, it is proposed to abolish the requirement for a license to work in the telecommunications sector for a number of areas. This includes banking applications, e-commerce platforms, payment systems and services.
