Tashkent ranked 1st in the world in terms of air pollution
On February 29, Tashkent ranks first among the world's major cities in terms of air pollution.
According to the IQAir portal, at 11:40, the concentration of fine PM2.5 dispersed particles in the air of Tashkent was 216 μg/m³ – this indicator is classified as “very harmful”.
The second place in the ranking is taken by the city of Lahore in Pakistan – the concentration of PM2.5 dispersed particles is 193 μg/m³. Dhaka, Bangladesh is on the 3rd place – 184 μg/m³. Kampala (Uganda), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Kathmandu (Nepal), Delhi (India), Mumbai (India), Wuhan (China), Karachi (Pakistan) also occupied the top ten in the ranking.
According to the World Health Organization, PM2.5 is the most dangerous air pollution indicator for health.
On February 23, Tashkent took first place in the list of cities with the most polluted air in the world.
