Uzbekistan, Russia to build a gas chemical complex in Bukhara

Uzbekistan and Russia intend to build a gas chemical complex in the Bukhara region, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade reports.

On February 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed issues of bilateral cooperation with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. In 2023, trade turnover increased by 6.6%, and joint projects are being implemented in the fields of industry, energy, transport, metallurgy, chemistry and pharmaceuticals, it was noted at the negotiations.

At the meeting with Deputy PM Jamshid Khodjayev, the implementation of large infrastructure projects was discussed, including the creation of a metallurgical cluster based on the Tebinbulak deposit and a copper processing plant at the facilities of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine.

The national railway companies Uzbekistan Railways and Russian Railways signed a roadmap for the development of cooperation.

In addition, issues of cooperation in the fields of railway transport, infrastructure, energy, modernization of the gas transportation system and the creation of various industrial complexes were also touched upon.

Denis Manturov emphasized that two months before the “INNOPROM. Central Asia” in Tashkent, over 90% of sites have already been booked.
