Specifically, during the routine customs check of the hand luggage of citizen K.A., who was traveling abroad, suspicious images were detected by an X-ray machine.
Further investigation revealed that the luggage contained a small antique bell made from yellow metal, which had been concealed to evade customs checks and was banned from export from Uzbekistan.
Artistic experts determined that the bronze bell was crafted in the second half of the 19th century in one of the European countries. The seized cultural asset has been handed over to the State Historical and Architectural Museum-Preserve "Ichan-Kala."
For reference: According to the law "On the export and import of cultural values" dated August 29, 1998, and the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution "On the export and import of cultural values" dated March 23, 1999, cultural values created 50 years ago or earlier cannot be exported from the territory of Uzbekistan.
