Statistics on crime of civil servants published
According to the information published by the PGO, 3,575 officials were prosecuted in 2023, which is 15% more than in 2022. At the same time, the number of officials at the republican level brought to criminal responsibility has decreased by 2 times - from 110 to 49 people.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Uzbekistan has released statistics on the crime of officials in 2023.
It was reported that last year, 3,575 officials were prosecuted within 3,412 criminal cases. The number of officials brought to criminal responsibility increased by 14.7% compared to 2022.
In 2022, 110 republican officials were prosecuted, and in 2023, this number decreased by 2 times to 49.
There was almost no change in the number of regional officials involved in criminal activities: 264 in 2022, 267 in 2023. District (city) level employees brought to criminal responsibility increased from 2,742 in 2022 to 3,259 in 2023, or 19%.
In 2023, officials committed the following types of crimes the most:
• embezzlement or looting of someone else's property - 2,205 people (2,103 people in 2022);
• abuse of official authority – 397 (265);
• fraud – 272 (243);
• accepting bribes, giving bribes, mediating in accepting and giving bribes - 195 (169);
• deviating from the scope of authority or official power - 30 (14);
• job-related fraud – 36 (51);
• professional negligence - 25 (22);
• other crimes – 415 (249).
As a result of the crimes of civil servants, in 2023, material damage was caused in the amount of 1 trillion 546 billion soums, of which 1 trillion 310 billion soums or 84.7% were recovered. The amount of damage has increased by 53% compared to a year ago.
