According to the MFA, the delegations of the parties were headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloyev and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Ali Bagheri Kani.
As part of the next round of inter-MFA political consultations, the parties exchanged views on the current state and priority areas for the development of bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within multilateral organizations.
Issues of intensifying economic diplomacy took center stage at the negotiations. In this context, the importance of creating favorable conditions for mutual trade and the implementation of investment projects, strengthening direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, and improving the mechanisms of interaction in the transport and communications sector was noted.
Issues of developing interparliamentary dialogue, expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations, as well as the schedule of upcoming events at various levels were discussed.
Mutual interest was expressed in building up cultural and humanitarian ties, in particular establishing partnerships between research institutions, organizing joint programs and projects in the field of art, literature and education.
The meeting also discussed certain issues on the international and regional agenda.
