It is noted that this is one of the main directions of tax and budget policy for 2024.
According to the explanation of the Tax Authority, which is responsible for the introduction of this procedure, the value added tax is now applied to the value of sanitary cleaning services provided by the service provider. This change applies to residents and entrepreneurs.
That is, for example, if the actual service cost is 4,000 soums, then the total service cost will be 4,480 soums if 12% VAT is calculated on this value from April 1.
In November, the price of waste collection and removal services for residents and organizations in Tashkent was increased by 7,500 soums. According to the new order, this amount, including VAT, is 8,400 soums. Also, new tariffs for solid household waste services have been established in six regions.
Decree on improving the waste management system
At the beginning of January, a presidential decree was adopted on the improvement of the waste collection and management system in Uzbekistan. The document stipulates that all sanitation enterprises will provide services through a single electronic system, and contracts with enterprises not connected to the system will be canceled.
In addition, now a person who owes money for solid waste services will not be able to pay for electricity. Transactions related to real estate and motor vehicles are notarized only if there is no debt for waste removal services.
Entrepreneurs were given the right to record environmental violations and report them to the State Environmental Control Inspectorate.
Separate collection of household waste will begin in Tashkent and several regions. Residents are provided with free garbage bags. It is planned to pay citizens for recycled waste.
