At a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Thursday, it was noted that the supervisory staff of those four government bodies only checks the presence of documents as the whole process is digitized. Therefore, it was decided to transfer all border control functions to the Customs Committee.
Two years ago, a new procedure for customs processing of goods was introduced in Uzbekistan. During the past period, the export volume of goods reached $1.1 billion as a result of 254 enterprises starting to work in this system. 83 percent of them are accounted for by entrepreneurs in Andijan, Bukhara, Syrdarya, Tashkent region and Tashkent city. However, in Karakalpakstan, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya and Khorezm, such exports did not even reach $10 million.
The leaders of these regions were instructed to increase exports.
