Tashkent city administration is developing a comprehensive plan of measures to improve the environmental situation in the capital. This was stated in the governor’s message.
In recent days, it has been noted that the environmental situation in the capital is deteriorating, and air pollution is occurring.
According to the governor’s report, in the action plan, it is planned to ensure environmental stability, reduce household waste, improve the public transport system both qualitatively and quantitatively, create an infrastructure aimed at giving priority to pedestrians, and then to public transport, and to implement a number of similar changes on the roads.
“In order to improve the ecological situation and protect public health, it is necessary to take some drastic decisions. Therefore, these decisions should be based on scientific research and analysis so that they do not cause negative consequences in the future,” the report reads.
Reportedly, currently working groups are working under the governor’s office in each direction, involving local and foreign experts. Based on the analytical conclusions of each working group, a presentation is being prepared on the practical measures to be taken at the scale of the capital.
“Soon, this presentation will be brought to the attention of the general public,” the capital’s administration stated.
