Previously, it was reported that Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the topic of supporting macroeconomic stability and economic growth.

The President noted that in 2024, it is planned to adopt a program to employ 5 million people. To reduce poverty, it is necessary to create jobs that constantly generate income for citizens, he added.

Last year, in 16 regions and cities, only 30% of the job creation plan was fulfilled.

The head of state criticized the activities of employment organizations for the ease of providing benefits to job seekers. In addition, throughout the republic, assistant governors in 319 mahallas have not achieved results in involving residents in business, increasing employment and reducing poverty.

The activities of 123 assistant governors in Sharaf-Rashidov, Pastdargom, Angor districts, Andijan and Termez were recognized as unsatisfactory. The officials have been instructed to replace them with more experienced personnel.

Mirziyoyev emphasized that the work of vocational education institutions included in the employment system is not at the proper level. The majority of Uzbek citizens working abroad are employed in hard, low-skilled and low-paid jobs.

Despite agreements with developed countries in Europe and Asia to send 150,000 migrant workers, only 9,000 people are employed abroad, equivalent to 6% of the agreed number.

The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction was instructed to eliminate shortcomings in job creation and professional training of the population, train 100 thousand workers in the profession and language, and then send them to work in foreign countries in an organized manner.
