On January 16, a traffic accident occurred in the Stavropol district of the Samara Oblast (Russia), which caused the death of people, the regional prosecutor’s office reported.
On the M-5 “Ural” highway, a Lada Largus with license plates of the Kashkadarya region of Uzbekistan and a Gazel truck collided.
A total of seven people were in the Largus. According to the “Samara Online” portal’s source, all of them are citizens of Uzbekistan. As a result of the accident, three people died and four passengers were hospitalized. Russian law-enforcement bodies have not yet officially announced that the deceased and injured are citizens of Uzbekistan.
According to preliminary information, the Largus driver lost control, jumped onto the opposite lane and collided with the Gazel. The prosecutor’s office is also studying the condition of the road surface in this section of the highway.
It should be recalled that on January 11, in the Penza Oblast of Russia, a JAC minivan with Uzbek citizens in it hit a Volvo truck on the opposite lane. As a result of the accident, seven people in the minivan, including the driver, died, and one person died in the hospital. Another injured person remains in hospital. The bodies of the victims were returned home on Saturday last week by a military transport plane of the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan.
