The news that a pregnant woman died with 4 twin babies in a maternity hospital in Namangan region was leaked to social networks. The Ministry of Health has commented on this case.
It was found out that on January 13 this year at 21:10, citizen M.M. (born in 2002), living in Nurabad mahalla, Davlatabad district, was admitted to the 1st Obstetrics Department of the Namangan branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Mother and Child Health in a serious condition with severe labor pain.
At the time of admission, she was given a preliminary diagnosis of “Pregnancy 1, 24 weeks & 1 day. Multiple gestation (quadruplets). Urethrohydronephrosis grade 3. Chronic anemia moderate”.
This pregnancy in the woman was accompanied by the risk of miscarriage and urethrohydronephrosis of the 2nd and 3rd degrees. Therefore, M.M. received the necessary treatments in the center’s pregnancy department three times.
At that time, it was explained to the woman’s relatives that it is difficult to give birth to 4 twin fetuses at term, and 2nd and 3rd degree urethrohydronephrosis of the kidneys can cause serious complications in the pregnant woman’s health.
While the woman was under medical supervision, she was given antibacterial therapy and prevention of distress syndrome.
On January 14, 2024, around 23:00, the patient’s pain increased, and a pathological miscarriage was observed in a very short time. The weight of fetuses was 410 g, 380 g, 390 g and 400 g.
After that, the woman’s uterus was cleaned and transferred to the gynecology department. However, at 06:50 on January 15, the patient’s condition worsened and clinical death occurred. Despite the fact that the woman was immediately connected to artificial respiration equipment and primary resuscitation measures were taken, her biological death was observed at 07:10 on the same day.
According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic examination, the cause of the patient’s death was massive thromboembolism of the pulmonary arteries and acute cardiovascular respiratory failure.
Currently, investigation activities are being carried out by the prosecutor’s office.
