According to the EU delegation in Tashkent, during his visit, Margaritis Schinas will hold meetings with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev and Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.
"I will start a trip to all five countries of Central Asia. The visit will take place before the "Europe-Central Asia" investment forum, which will be held in Brussels on January 29-30, and is a sign of increasing cooperation between the European Union and the Central Asian region," he said.
For information, the delegation led by Margaritis Schinas arrived in Uzbekistan two years ago - in November 2021. The Vice-President of the European Commission met with the head of state and discussed the issues of further expanding multilateral cooperation.
