South Korean company plans to modernize five hydroelectric power plants in Uzbekistan

The Tae-Chang NET company from South Korea intends to modernize five hydroelectric power plants in Uzbekistan, Dunyo IA reports.

During a meeting at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, representatives of Tae-Chang NET Co., Ltd. announced plans for the complete replacement of power units at five HPPs with a total capacity of 30 MW, located in the Tashkent and Samarkand regions.

The South Korean company has begun developing a feasibility study for the modernization of five hydroelectric power stations.

The pilot project for the conversion of one hydroelectric power station is planned to be financed through grant funds from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). Currently, Uzbekhydroenergo JSC and Tae-Chang NET are preparing the project concept for submitting an official application.
