It is noted that in 11 months of 2023, 8,693 accidents occurred, in which 2,080 people died and 8,055 people were injured.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security of the Senate, Kutbiddin Burkhonov, reported that 1,115 people died in accidents in January-July, and later, 1,415 people died in 8 months. If 1,415 people died from accidents in 8 months, and 2,080 people died in 11 months, it follows that a total of 665 people died from accidents in September, October and November.

“These road traffic accidents are mainly caused by citizens' disregard of the responsibility established by the law and ignorance of the current traffic rules,” the report of the committee says.

The Committee noted that only 51.4% of the incidents occurred due to subjective reasons in the data provided for the 7th month of 2023.

In 2022, 9,902 accidents were recorded, 48.1 percent of which were caused by objective reasons, that is, there is no pedestrian crossing, barriers dividing the road into two are not installed, and barriers limiting pedestrian movement are not installed. The MIA stated that the cause of the accident was the failure of the road surface, lack of bicycle lanes, and lack of traffic lights or road signs.
