It is planned to open an Uzbek-Turkish jewelry factory in the Fergana region, the press service of the regional administration reported.

The head of the administration, Khayrullo Bozorov, met with the initiators of the JV last week. The delegation included local businessman Ulugbek Abdurakhimov and his Turkish partners – Ali Uyanik and Jezmi Shenni.

The parties discussed the construction of a plant for the production of gold and silver products, which is planned to open within two years. The project is estimated at $10 million and should provide permanent employment to over 300 people.

Jewelry products are planned to be both supplied to the domestic market and exported to the USA and European countries. A research laboratory and a vocational education center will also be created at the plant.

It is planned to build the plant in a small industrial zone on the territory of the Eco-town of the regional center. Until then, the workshop will be temporarily located in one of the empty buildings, which will be leased to the company.
