On December 5 of this year, a ceremony of signing a memorandum of understanding between the Strategic and Interregional Studies Institute (SISI) under the President of Uzbekistan and the UN Counter-Terrorism Office was held at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.
The document was signed by the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, the head of the UN Anti-Terrorism Office, Vladimir Voronkov, and the director of the Strategic and Interregional Studies Institute under the President of Uzbekistan, Eldor Aripov.
In his speech at the signing ceremony of the documents, V. Voronkov thanked the President of Uzbekistan for the attention paid to the development of comprehensive cooperation with UN structures.
He also expressed gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan for the financial contribution to the activities of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office.
The memorandum reflects the main principles and directions of cooperation, including the exchange of publications and research data, the implementation of joint projects within the framework of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, as well as the resolution of other issues of interest to the parties.
