Starting from January 1, 2024, Kazakhstan’s national trunk oil operator Kaztransoil will increase prices for transit through the “Tuymazi – Omsk – Novosibirsk-2” (TON-2) oil pipeline.

In particular, starting next year, the price for the transit of 1 ton of oil per 1,000 km through the Kazakh part of the main network will be $11.28 (without VAT). This is 20.9% more than the current tariff price ($9.33).

The Kazakh side explained the price increase by the fact that the current tariff has not changed since April 1, 2018.

For information, the length of the main oil pipeline TON-2 is 186.25 km and passes through the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia. Through this pipeline, Russian oil is delivered to China and Uzbekistan.

Earlier, it was reported that Kaztransoil could triple the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in 2024. It is planned to increase the volume of delivery from 154 thousand tons to 500 thousand tons.
