The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will allocate $170 million to the electric transport development program in Uzbekistan, UzA reports.

First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov discussed with ADB representatives the issue of Uzbekistanā€™s participation in the ā€œElectromobility Programā€ implemented by the UN Green Climate Fund in seven countries.

Under the program, Uzbekistan will receive $170 million, of which $105 million will be provided on the basis of a loan, and $65 million will be grants.

The funds will be used to remove obstacles to the popularization of commercial electric vehicles. In addition, the goals include deploying a fleet of electric buses and supporting infrastructure, improving the public transport system, and developing EVs.
