The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasutoshi Nishimura, the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov (online), the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev (online), the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Control of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbayev, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma, State Minister of Turkmenistan – Chairman of the Turkmangaz State Concern Maksat Babayev, heads and employees of diplomatic missions.
Opening the meeting, Japanese Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura noted the importance of Central Asia from a geographical and political point of view. He also stated that the Japanese side pays great attention to the further development of trade-economic and energy cooperation between Japan and the Central Asian countries.
Yasutoshi Nishimura emphasized the great importance of expanding cooperation between countries, developing alternative energy, developing hydrogen energy technologies, and introducing carbon dioxide capture technologies for the transition to a green economy.
During the meeting, the ministers of the Central Asian countries spoke and provided detailed information on the transition to green energy in their countries, reducing carbon dioxide emissions, introducing alternative energy, as well as on government policies and programs being implemented in this direction.
Following the meeting, a joint statement was adopted.
