Kaylan noted that Shavkat Mirziyoyev has become a central figure in efforts to integrate the countries of Central Asia, activating the opening of business, border, and trade in the region. Under the leadership of Mirziyoyev,
"With a little help, Uzbekistan stands fair to becoming an east-west north-south travel hub to challenge the likes of Dubai," he said.
According to Kaylan, Uzbekistan became one of the few economies that did not stop developing during the COVID-19 pandemic due to strong gold exports.
The author emphasized that Uzbekistan is conducting negotiations on WTO membership and called on the USA to activate this process. He also drew attention to the 1974 Jackson-Venick amendment, pointing out the need to repeal it in order to normalize trade relations between the United States and Central Asian countries.
Kaylan said that Biden's new initiative is aimed at creating a trade corridor between India, Saudi Arabia, and Europe, a step towards bringing the US back into the global geostrategic arena. The success of this initiative largely depends on strategic partnership relations with Uzbekistan and other countries of Central Asia.
