US President Joseph Biden, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimukhamedov also took part in the event.
In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic partnership, "green" development, ensuring energy security and introduction of renewable energy sources, regional security, and cooperation in the fields of combating terrorism and cross-border crime.
At the summit, it was noted that the "C5+1" format, established eight years ago in Samarkand, has become an important platform for the development of open and constructive dialogue and effective cooperation in all fields between the Central Asian countries and the United States.
The head of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the strengthening of friendship, mutual understanding, and partnership relations in the Central Asian region, which creates new and unique opportunities for broad cooperation.
The meeting participants noted that strengthening trade and investment activities, establishing project cooperation, developing transport corridors in the region, promoting the "green" agenda, ensuring human rights and gender equality, expanding educational programs, and helping to resolve the situation in Afghanistan peacefully are of strategic importance.
Following the meeting, the sides reached agreements on deepening mutual understanding and expanding practical partnership between the countries of the region and the USA.
