On September 6, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Feruza Mahmudova and Israeli Minister of Transport and Road Safety Miri Regev signed a document amending the 1994 intergovernmental agreement on air traffic.

In particular, the protocol provides for the removal of restrictions on the number of air carriers and directions for air communication between countries.

The signing of the document will help open up promising destinations and attract new airlines, as well as increase mutual tourist flows.

In March 2022, Uzbekistan Airways launched new direct flights to Israel. The national carrier has doubled the frequency of flights to four times a week.

Since May this year, Qanot Sharq has announced the launch of a new flight between Uzbekistan and Israel. The private air carrier also performs flights from Samarkand to Tel Aviv.
