US Embassy Tashkent issues statement warning Green Card winners
Several hundred Green Card winners may not be able to attend their interviews as the allotted slots for the DV program have almost been filled.
“Once the annual 55,000 worldwide limit is reached, all US embassies cannot issue any more DVs for this year’s program,” the US Embassy Tashkent said.
According to the embassy, DV applicants who are scheduled for an upcoming visa interview this month in Tashkent may not be able to receive a visa.
“Visa applicants who know that their application is missing the required documents should consider whether to attend their visa interview (and pay the non-refundable visa fee) as there may not be sufficient time to finalize their application,” the embassy says.
They added that the embassy will continue to issue DV visas until the worldwide limit is reached and has so far conducted interviews for more than 3,100 applicants.
