New Ambassador of Bangladesh presents copies of his credentials to FM Saidov
On August 29, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Monirul Islam.

“We are glad to receive copies of the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bangladesh to our country H.E. Mohammad Monirul Islam,” the minister wrote in his telegram channel. “Uzbekistan and Bangladesh are demonstrating sustainable economic growth, have a lot in common, and have huge opportunities for further building up partnership. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is ready to promote close cooperation in all areas.”
Mohammad Monirul Islam replaced Mohammad Jahangir Alam, who headed the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tashkent between 2020 and 2023.
The new ambassador is 48 years old. He has been working in the system of the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh since 2001. Before being appointed to Tashkent, Mohammad Monirul Islam worked as the Consul General of his country in Istanbul and New York.
