Uzbekistan increases potato cultivation
In the first half of the year, about 1.7 million tons of potatoes were grown in Uzbekistan.
According to the Statistics Agency, the volume of potato cultivation increased by 3.3% compared to the same period last year.
Reportedly, Samarkand leads in terms of potato cultivation among regions: 18.5% of the total production accounts for Samarkand.
Also, a high level of cultivation was recorded in Surkhandarya (13.5%), Fergana (12.0%), Andijan (11.2%) and Bukhara (10.2%) regions.
The lowest indicators for potato cultivation were observed in the Jizzakh region (0.7%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (1.7%).
