New British Ambassador begins work in Uzbekistan

On Thursday, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received copies of the credentials of newly appointed British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Timothy Smart.
During the meeting, the head of the Foreign Ministry and the new ambassador discussed the extensive agenda of Uzbek-British cooperation.
It should be reminded that the previous ambassador Timothy Torlot completed his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan in July this year.
Before his departure, Kun.uz conducted an interview with the ambassador.
During the interview, Ambassador Tim Torlot spoke about the changes observed in bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and the UK over the past four years, opportunities to further strengthen trade ties, cooperation in education, security issues in Central Asia, the war in Ukraine and many other politically important topics.
