Deputy PM of Uzbekistan to hold a meeting with Taliban leaders in Kabul

The interview was broadcast in Uzbek, Dari and Pashto languages   by the national TV and radio company of Afghanistan. The conversation was devoted to the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, as well as issues of ensuring peace in the region.

In it, the ambassador spoke about the existing potential between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, the work being carried out in cooperation in trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, medical and other fields, the initiatives of the head of our country to establish peace in Afghanistan and involving this country in international economic processes.

During the interview, Yodgor Shodmonov emphasized that strengthening of peace in Afghanistan will serve the further expansion of mutual cooperation. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan also acknowledged the positive results in Afghanistan's recovery from the economic crisis and the fight against drugs. He noted that relevant work is being done in this regard.

"Uzbekistan seeks to develop friendly relations with Afghanistan. In particular, initiatives are being put forward to implement new projects in the trade-economic, transport, and energy sectors. The implementation of these projects will serve the well-being of Afghanistan, the countries of the region and their people. In the next few days, a delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan will arrive in Kabul and a meeting will be held with the leaders of Taliban. It is planned to organize a business forum," the head of the Uzbek diplomatic mission said.

During the conversation, Afghan businessmen's investments in the economy of Uzbekistan and the conditions created for them were discussed.

"Today, a very favorable business environment for foreign investors has been created in Uzbekistan. On the other hand, Afghan businessmen are also effectively using these opportunities. Currently, more than a thousand Afghan businessmen are working in Uzbekistan. In particular, 31 large Afghan companies have directly invested in our country in the amount of $118 million," the head of the mission noted.
