Archeological objects in Samarkand suffer damage worth 9 billion soums

In particular, the area of 163 cubic meters of the archaeological monument “Tulqirtepa-1” located in the “Mingtepa” mahalla of Urgut district was excavated using special equipment. As a result, 4 billion soums of damage was caused to the historical object.

Also, as a result of the partial destruction of the medieval “Teshiktepa” in the “Quyiqishloq” mahalla, “Kulqishloqtepa-2” in the “Dehqonobod” mahalla and “Mozortepa” in the “Ogahiy” mahalla, a total of 5 billion soums of damage was caused.

According to the results of the investigations, criminal cases were initiated, and investigations are currently underway.

According to the PGO, these criminal cases are considered serious crimes according to the law, and the punishment of up to 7 years of imprisonment can be applied to the guilty parties.
