I. Ibragimov, the first deputy commander of the National Guard in charge of public safety, was dismissed from his position, the presidential press service reported.
At the meeting in Fergana region, the President focused on the issues of ensuring peace in public places.
The National Guard was given additional powers, and the maintenance of public order in parks, boulevards and markets was entrusted to this structure.
However, it was noted that the work of the National Guard is not working efficiently in terms of turning markets into “crime-free areas”.
This year, 86% of 236 crimes in the areas under the responsibility of the National Guard were committed in the market.
“In general, it was shown that a system for combating crimes was not created in the areas under the responsibility of the National Guard, and I. Ibragimov, the first deputy commander of the National Guard in charge of public safety, was dismissed from his position,” the report reads.
The chiefs of the Jizzakh and Surkhandarya regions of the National Guard, as well as the head of the Navoi city security department, will be dismissed for not performing their duties properly.
