Electricity consumption record renewed in Uzbekistan
On July 26, a record for one-day electricity consumption was set in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.

During the day, 250.7 million kWh of electricity was consumed, which is 5.8% more than on the same day last year – 236.9 million kWh.
The previous record was set on July 12 – 247.5 million kWh. On July 26, hourly consumption was about 12.3 thousand MW, or 1500 MW (+14.1%) more than the same date last year.
In 2022, the maximum consumption of electricity was recorded on July 27, which was 239 million kWh (10.8 thousand MW per hour during the day).
The volume of daily electricity production by the power stations of the energy system of Uzbekistan was 243.9 million kWh. This is 21.5 million kWh (+9.6%) more than on this day in 2022.
The Ministry of Energy reminded that the conductivity of electrical networks decreases by 25% at high air temperatures, which is related to the physical properties of the networks. “If mandatory restrictions are not introduced in such cases, large-scale accidents may occur,” the ministry said in a statement.
“We ask consumers to correctly understand and support that such necessary measures, which prevent the occurrence of large-scale failures in the network, which require a short period of power outages to prevent them from reaching the point where repairs will take a long time, are extremely important today,” the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
Residents were asked to be frugal, not to use electrical equipment unnecessarily, thereby contributing to the prevention of network overload, accidents and outages.
