Bank employee steals money from plastic cards of 41 customers in Bukhara
The 21-year-old cashier withdrew about 22 million soums from plastic cards opened for payments such as pensions and financial assistance.

It was found that a bank employee in Bukhara stole money from people’s plastic cards, the MIA press service reports.
Allegedly, a citizen living in Gijduvan district of Bukhara region appealed to the DIA about the theft of money from his plastic card. During inspection based on this appeal, it was identified that the person who stole the money was a bank employee.
A criminal case was initiated under Article 169-1 (theft) of the Criminal Code against the cashier (born in 2002) of the mobile cash desk of the branch of the bank in Gijduvan district.
In the course of the investigation, this cashier embezzled a total of 21.9 million soums from 41 plastic cards opened to receive pension payments, material assistance and allowances for citizens up to 2 years of age from November 2022 to May 29, 2023, and used them for his own needs.
Currently, all the stolen funds have been recovered, and the investigation is underway.
