Uzbekistan ranked 71st out of 97 in the Passport Index, a global passport strength rating compiled by the Canadian consulting company Arton Capital.

When compiling the index, the company evaluated passports based on how many countries their holders can visit either without a visa or receive a visa upon arrival in the country.

Citizens of Uzbekistan can visit 24 countries without a visa, in 45 countries a visa can be done on arrival, and for two countries an electronic entry permit is required. To visit 127 countries, an entry visa is required in accordance with the generally established procedure.

Thus, for more than half a year, the Uzbek passport has lost two positions in the world ranking.

The holders of the most powerful passport in the world were citizens of the United Arab Emirates. For them, there is a visa-free regime in 125 countries, in another 55 countries a visa can be obtained upon arrival. Afghanistan is on the last line - only 5 countries offer visa-free travel to its citizens, in another 35 countries a visa can be issued upon arrival.

In the CIS region, Ukraine became the leader - 18th place with an indicator of 148 countries: 96 - in a visa-free regime, 52 - with a visa on arrival. Turkmenistan has the weakest passport among the Commonwealth countries (79th place; index - 63).

At the end of last year, according to the Henley Passport Index, Uzbekistan ranked 85th.
