Tanzila Narbayeva meets with President of Kazakhstan
Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva visited Kazakhstan and met with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev. She also participated in the meeting of the Central Asian women's dialogue.

Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the meeting, the current issues of Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan cooperation were discussed in terms of development of inter-parliamentary relations and giving additional impetus to the development of interstate relations.
Tokayev noted that Narbayeva's visit is a clear example of the unique nature of bilateral cooperation, and fully corresponds to the level of strategic partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
- We highly appreciate the results of the state visit to Uzbekistan last December. On March 3 of this year, an informal meeting was held in the city of Shymkent, where the most urgent issues of cooperation between our countries were discussed. It is gratifying that not only coordinated work is being carried out at the government level, but also that inter-parliamentary diplomacy is actively developing. Therefore, I welcome the second inter-parliamentary forum to be held in Samarkand next year, said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In turn, Narbayeva expressed gratitude for the warm reception.
- We highly appreciate the large-scale reforms implemented in Kazakhstan under your leadership. I congratulate you on the successful completion of major events in Kazakhstan, which allowed for the political modernization of the entire system. Kazakhstan is confidently moving on the path of progressive reforms, and the people of Kazakhstan are actively supporting your path, the Senate Chairperson said.
Also, Tanzila Narbayeva met with Maulen Ashimbayev, chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the meeting of the dialogue of Central Asian women leaders, which is held in Astana under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan.
During the dialogue, attention was paid to the current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as further development of trade-economic and investment cooperation, and further strengthening of mutual relations between the regions of the two countries.
Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, noted that the dialogue of leading women of Central Asia, initiated by Uzbekistan, is a unique platform for regional cooperation, and is significant as it brings all aspects of mutual cooperation to a new level.
At the same time, with the support of the UN and the National Commission on Women's Affairs, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting of the leading women of Central Asia on the topic "The role of women in the development of innovations and technologies" was held in Astana.
It was attended by Tanzila Narbayeva, Speaker of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, deputies of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, heads of state bodies, as well as representatives of non-governmental and international organizations, diplomatic corps.
During the event, the participants agreed to unite the efforts of active, business women, academic and scientific circles, non-governmental and civil sectors in the countries of the Central Asian region, expand cooperation on demographic development, gender equality, implement projects in the field of tourism, cultural development, and interact in the field of ecology. Opinions were expressed regarding the development of cooperation, trade, including digital technologies.
According to the results of the session, the action plan of the dialogue of Central Asian women leaders for 2023 was adopted.
