Uzbekistan supplied $118.6 million worth of gas to China in five months, TASS reports with reference to the official statistics of the PRC customs.
Compared to the same period in 2022, blue fuel export revenue decreased by 60.7%. The customs department did not provide data on the physical volume of deliveries through pipelines.
In May, Uzbek gas entered the Chinese market for $78.16 million. This is almost twice as much as in April, but it is also far behind last May (when monthly revenue was the highest for the year – $161.5 million).
Turkmenistan remains the main supplier of pipeline gas to the Middle Kingdom, having received $4.25 billion for it since the beginning of the year, which is 13.5% more than the same period a year earlier. In May alone, China paid about $730 million for Turkmen fuel.
Second place is occupied by Russia with $2.81 billion, which has more than doubled supplies. May deliveries accounted for more than half of the volume for the previous months – $1.05 billion. Myanmar closes the top three – $630.5 billion (+ 23%).
Kazakhstan also reduced the export of blue fuel to the market of its eastern neighbor. For five months, revenue in this area amounted to only $300.1 million, or a quarter less than last year.
