Sudden descent of an elevator in the capital’s Yangikhayot district injures 11 people
Currently, eight citizens have been released from the hospital, three more are receiving medical assistance.

In the Yangikhayot district of Tashkent, an elevator designed to transport goods accelerated, after which the automatic braking system worked only in front of the 1st floor.
Yesterday, June 18, at 16:15, due to a technical malfunction during the descent, the elevator of a multi-storey building located along the “Navruz” St., “Yangi Darkhan” mahalla of the capital’s Yangikhayot district accelerated.
According to the MES, the automatic brake system of the elevator worked already when approaching the 1st floor.
As a result, 11 citizens who were in the elevator were taken to the emergency department with various minor injuries.
Currently, 8 citizens have been discharged home from the hospital, and the remaining 3 citizens are receiving medical assistance.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the prosecutor’s office and the Ministry of Health arrived at the scene to investigate the case.
