On June 26, the Yakkasaray inter-district Court for Civil Cases will consider a case against the wife of the first president of Uzbekistan Tatyana Karimova – the plaintiff is Islam Karimov's son from his first marriage, Petr Karimov.

Judging by the information published by the Tashkent City Court, the subject of the claim is a dispute arising from the right of inheritance.

Judge Aziz Rahmonov will consider the case in the court of first instance.

This is not the first lawsuit of Petr Karimov after the death of his father. In 2018, Petr Karimov, who worked for the national airline Uzbekistan Airways for several years, filed a lawsuit against his employer for the recovery of wages through a court in Moscow. By the end of the year, the case was closed due to an early settlement agreement between the plaintiff and the defendant.

Petr Karimov is the eldest child of Islam Karimov's first wife, Natalya Petrovna Kuchma, whom he married in the 1960s. Official information about this was made public only after the death of Islam Karimov.
