Uzbekistan expresses its readiness to help Kazakhstan fight against forest fires
Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that Uzbekistan is ready to provide all necessary assistance in fighting forest fires in Kazakhstan.

On June 12, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the press service of the head of state, at the beginning of the conversation, the president expressed his condolences to Tokayev and the people of brotherly Kazakhstan in connection with the death of people due to the forest fire that occurred in the territory of Abay region.
“It was stated that Uzbekistan is ready to provide all necessary assistance in combating the natural disaster and eliminating its consequences.
The presidents also discussed the current issues of further strengthening of good neighborly, strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two countries.
Particular attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of cooperation projects in trade, industry, energy, transport, agriculture and other sectors of the economy. They also exchanged views on issues on the regional agenda,” the report reads.
14 people died as a result of forest fires that started on June 8 in Abay region. The fire that broke out in the border area with Russia covered an area of more than 60,000 hectares. June 12 was declared a day of national mourning in the country.
