Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov informed about the quota allocated for higher education in the 2023-2024 academic year. According to him, this year it is planned to accept 381,000 applicants. Of these, 60 thousand quotas will be allocated for grants.
“We approve grants for state universities. More than 40 independent higher education institutions determine the payment contract quota. Universities that are not independent approve quotas in agreement with subordinate ministries and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations. We will provide more detailed information after the approval of the admission parameters,” the minister said.
According to Abdurakhmonov, the enrollment of young people in higher education has reached 38-39%, and in the new academic year, this enrollment is expected to reach 42%. The coverage of graduates in higher education is approaching 60%.
The minister also touched upon how many applicants are expected this year. It is known that, including higher educational institutions and professional educational institutions, more than 1 million 200 applicants are expected to enter this year.
For information, this year the admission exams will be held indoors, and not outdoors, as during the pandemic. For this, 92 objects across the republic were selected and a list of them was announced.
