In April, Uzbekistan delivered $40.47 million worth of natural gas to China, Spot writes with reference to the information of the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China.
Since the beginning of the year, Chinese statistics for the first time recorded the import of blue fuel from Uzbekistan. There were no deliveries in January-March.
Kazakhstan also increased gas supplies to China in April. Monthly revenue was $119.5 million compared to $29.9 million in the first quarter. In February, deliveries fell to a minimum of $778,000.
Turkmenistan has become the leader in gas exports to the Chinese market, the country has earned $3.42 billion since the beginning of the year, and Russia is in second place with $1.76 billion.
In 2022, Uzbekistan received $1.07 billion from gas supplies to China, which is slightly less than Kazakhstan. Compared to the previous year, revenue increased by about a third.
According to the statistical office, over 11 months of 2022, Uzbekistan supplied gas to China for $910.9 million. However, the discrepancy with the data of Chinese customs amounted to $120 million. This is explained by the fact that China paid for the transit of Turkmen gas.
In December, the head of Uztransgaz announced that the export of blue fuel had been completely stopped. In winter, gas was supplied to domestic consumers.
