“Adolat” social-democratic party approved Robakhon Mahmudova’s candidacy for consideration at the upcoming plenary session. This news was announced at the end of the party’s extraordinary plenum.
“At the plenum, a decision was made to include the issue of presenting Robakhon Mahmudova as a candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the “Adolat” SDP of Uzbekistan in the discussion of the next Congress of the party,” UzA reported.
Robakhon Mahmudova was born in 1958 in the city of Fergana. In 1983, she graduated from the Faculty of Law of Tashkent State University. Previously, she worked as the chairman of the Fergana regional court on criminal cases, and in 2017-2020, she was the head of the People’s Reception of the President of Uzbekistan in the Fergana region.
In January 2020, she was elected as a senator from Fergana region. Later, she was elected to the position of the chairman of the Senate Committee on science, education and healthcare.
Since July 2020, she has been working in the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan – Chairman of the Judicial Committee on Administrative Affairs.
Prior to that, the presidential candidates of two parties were announced – the Ecological Party and the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan have presented their leaders Abdushukur Hamzaev and Ulugbek Inoyatov as presidential candidates.
