Eco party candidate for presidency of Uzbekistan announced
The Ecological Party of Uzbekistan plans to nominate its leader Abdushukur Hamzaev as a presidential candidate.

Today, May 11, an extraordinary plenum of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan was held. The issue of the presidential candidate was discussed at the meeting.
According to UzA, a decision was made at the plenum to nominate Abdushukur Hamzaev, the chairman of the executive committee of the party’s central council, as a candidate for the post of President of Uzbekistan.
Abdushukur Hamzaev was born in 1973 in Uzun district, Surkhandarya region. In 1995, he graduated from the Samarkand Agricultural Institute, and in 2013 – from the State Administration Academy. He is a doctor of agricultural sciences, a professor.
Since June 2022, he has been the deputy chairman of the executive committee of the Central Council of the Ecoparty, and in December he became the party’s leader.
It should be recalled that early presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan on July 9, 2023. The Central Election Commission has announced that the election campaign for the presidency will begin on May 10. The establishment of constituencies is scheduled until May 15, and the establishment of polling stations is scheduled for May 25. In addition, a unified electronic list of voters will be created.
Political parties must apply to the Central Election Commission within 3 days after the announcement of the election campaign to register their authorized representatives. To participate in the election, the parties must submit documents by May 15. From May 17 to June 1, parties can nominate their candidates. Submission of candidate registration documents ends on June 2.
For information, five parties are registered in Uzbekistan. Candidates of other parties have not been announced yet.
