“Why did our people become so active in the referendum, why do they support our reforms?
Because they are seeing with their own eyes the huge construction and beautification works in mahallas and streets of our capital, in the villages of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and our regions.
Just one example, we all know how the introduction of the “Open Budget” system from last year had a positive effect on the mood of our ordinary people in villages and mahallas.
But we have to do twice as much to meet the growing demands of our people.
It is recognized that there is poverty in our country, and a lot of work is being done to reduce it on the basis of special programs. For this purpose, in order to ensure the employment of the population, especially young people and women, and to increase their income, the social register system were established, and significant results were achieved.
The main thing is that citizens support our reforms. But we still have a lot to do.
In this regard, our people expect a lot from the updated Constitution, from the new system we are introducing. In order to create decent living conditions for our population, first of all, it is necessary to ensure economic growth.
We need to use all possible means to increase the size of our gross domestic product from the current $80 billion to $160 billion in the next few years. This means that the gross domestic product per capita will reach $4,000.
We will continue to support the private sector, further simplify the tax administration, and reduce the state’s participation in the economy,” the head of state said.
The government was tasked to develop a separate program for each new commitment the state took on by August 1, the responsible ministries and administrations will submit it to the parliament clearly specifying their funds, implementation mechanisms.
